The Spice of Life
Moxy Fruvous Live Recordings

Here's a list of my Moxy Fruvous tapes. For a list of other bands I have, click here.

In terms of trade, I am looking for any Moxy Fruvous shows on DAT tape or really good analog shows. Other bands I am interested in are yeP!, Guster, Eddie from Ohio, Bela Fleck, Victor Wooten. Ben Folds Five, Dave Matthews Band, any anything else interesting.

Fire off an email to jikm AT dumbness.org if you want to trade.

Before trading, please be sure to visit my Rules Page, which also includes notes for new traders.

Guide to Medium and Source
The codes in from of the colon in this column stand for the medium I have the recording on. Possibilities are An (analog cassette), CD (compact disc), DAT (DAT tape), or VHS (video). After the colon, the generation and original source (if known) are listed. For example, An: DAT master would mean I have a copy of an original DAT on cassette. CD: VHS master would mean I have a digitized copy of the original video recording on CD.

Interview Tapes:

WXPN Interviews
Contains several interviews from WXPN (Philidelphia). The 100 minute tape includes interviews from Fall 1997, 11/13/97, and 5/20/98. Great quality.

Champaign Tape
Contains several interviews taped in Champaign, IL. The 60+ minute tape includes interviews from NPR's All Things Considered (August 1998), the Acoustic Cafe (July 1998) and the Web 93.5 (4/11/97). Great quality.

Video Tapes:
Note: I do not have the capability to dub video tapes at the moment.

Tape 1
This has an assortment of stuff including all the Fruvous videos, an appearance on the Dini Petty show in Canada, an appearance on a Canadian Telethon, the First Annual Fruvous Convention, and a few other ditties. Quality ranges from good to okay.

Tape 2
This tape contains 'Eddie & the Crusiers II: Eddie Lives', a bad movie which Dave has a minor role in, an appearance on Mr. Jones on TVO, the Dini Petty show appearance, the convention, and an appearance on 'First Up'. I haven't watched it yet so I don't know about the quality.

Moxy Fr|vous Live Mix Tape (100 minutes)
My latest tape, taken only from the best quality shows I have (mostly the ones on CD). I labored over the song ordering and I think the tape came out really well. Highly recommended. Especially good for aspiring new Fr|heads who haven't heard much of the band's live stuff yet.

Side A: I've Gotta Get a Message to You a capella version / Organ Grinder / You Shook Me All Night Long / Michigan Militia / Present Tense Tureen / Johnny Saucep'n / Mistra Know-It-All / Lazlo's Career / It's Too Cold / Sahara / Spiderman 97 / Jockey Full of Bourbon / Poor Mary Lane / Jazzy Boo Time / Oliver's Army.

Side B: My Baby Loves a Bunch of Authors / River Valley / Fly / B.J. Don't Cry / King of Spain -> Green Eggs and Ham short version / Dancing Queen Medley / Psycho Killer / Billie Jian Medley / BBC Heaven / Love Potion #9 Medley / Brown-Eyed Girl / The Drinking Song.

Moxy Fr|vous Mix Tape #1 (90 minutes)
My own tape, a bit old now, made from just the 8/22/97 and 10/2/97 shows. Came out pretty well.

Side A: I've Gotta Get a Message To You a capella version / Poor Mary Lane /On Her Doorstep / Your New Boyfriend slow version / B.J. Don't Cry / River Valley / Jazzy Boo Time / Horseshoes / Fly / King of Spain -> Green Eggs and Ham short version / Spiderman (off Bargainville)

Side B: Canadian Hockey Theme / I Love My Boss / Kick in the Ass / Michigan Militia / Present Tense Tureen / Johnny Saucep'n / Signed Sealed and Delivered / Grunge of Spain / Love Potion #9 Medley / My Baby Loves a Bunch of Authors / Billie Jian Medley / The Drinking Song

Moxy Fr|vous Covers and Rarities (90 minutes)
This is a copy of a mix tape from I forget who. The quality is quite good on Side A but gets pretty bad on Side B. Perhaps I'll redo that side someday with my better quality recordings from the 12/7/97 show.

Side A: Jockey Full of Bourbon (5/17/97) / Dancing Queen Medley (8/95?) / Billie Jian Medley (5/17/97) / Mistra Know-It-All (4/1/97) / Love Potion #9 Medley (8/95?) / Laika acoustic (from promo tape) / Grunge of Spain (5/17/97) / Ballad of Marion Fr|vous (7/27/97) / Love Set Fire acoustic (5/23/97) / Oliver's Army (3/16/97)

Side B: Green Eggs and Ham (from Indie tape) / Book-Reading Baby (from Indie tape) / Psycho Killer (12/7/97) / Girl from Impanema (12/7/97) / Brown-Eyed Girl (12/7/97) / Organ Grinder (12/7/97)? You Shook Me All Night Long (12/7/97) / Jazzy Boo Time (12/7/97) / Love Potion #9 Medley (12/7/97) / King of Spain (from Indie Tape)
